Ar Yaev: Collection Update
Ar Yaev is a photography collection where I collaborated with an Akha photographer to share images of Flowers. Ar yaev in the Akha language means flower. I recently listed Dok Champa with 50 editions each edition was about 75 cents. After all the editions sold out a benevolent collector came in and just sweeped the floor collecting as many as they could. They did so for quite large sums of money raising more than 100 USD in secondary royalties.
Because of that collector driving up interests we managed to raise quite a bit of money. I gave the photographer over 150 USD in secondary sales and primary sales. It felt amazing to reward them for all their hard work in helping me bring supplies and funds to the Akha schools up in the mountains. When I gave them the money the first thing they asked was “Which school do you want to help next?”
I reiterated. This collection was created to help them for all their hard work in helping us on charity projects. With such a kind heart I know that they will be using some of this money to help members of their village. It just means the world to me that I have met someone of their character willing to help me help others. They were taken aback by the generosity of the Tezos NFT community wanting to help someone they’d never met.
If I was to work with a local charity for example a lot of money would go to overhead costs and some to corruption. This way the money goes exactly where we want it to go. Every time I do this 100% of the funds goes to where I promise those purchasing the NFT.
